Wot’s all this, then?
It’s a little shop carrying items (illustrated and designed by me!) featuring some of my favourite people and interests, with a big portion of sales going to causes I care about.
Things are a bit upside-down (and scary) in the world right now, and I wanted to be proactive and contribute something positive, in addition to supporting my own mental health.
Unless otherwise specified, 50%-100% of sales (after processing fees) will be donated.
If (for whatever personal reason) you do not wish to contribute to the organizations I’ve chosen, kindly refrain from purchasing from the store.
Which charities will donations be going to?
Since I live in Canada, donations will be made to Canadian or Canadian-affiliate charities (for boring tax/legal reasons.) List of charities may change or rotate in the future:
Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières: an international emergency medical humanitarian organization founded by doctors and journalists. Teams provide neutral, impartial and independent emergency healthcare to people affected by disaster, disease, conflict and exclusion.
YouthLine.ca: provides affirming, anonymous peer support and resources for 2SLGBTQ+ youth.
Progress Place: goal is to improve the lives of people with mental illness, offering programs and services that provide opportunities for recovery though employment, education, housing, and recreation.
